Amanda Gower
Amanda Gower is a Principal Researcher in the Media Interfaces Group in the Broadband Applications Research Centre, BT Group Chief Technology Office. She is responsible for the team’s collaborative research projects supported by the DTI, which includes managing BT’s contribution to
Edrama and managing the
Participate consortia. Recent projects include the delivery of the art works for the BT Connected World Art Project for BT Global Services.
Amanda’s research interests are the social and cultural applications and implications of ICT, particularly in education and leisure. She has worked on many collaborative projects whose key focus is to deliver public trials and prototypes to the general public. In the last 12 years, Amanda’s work has ranged from concept visualisation, technical realisation of content and supporting technology, production delivery management, liason with customers and project partners in the creative industries and with academia, and the creation and dissemination of collatoral for pr activities.
Amanda has published papers and contributed to panels and workshops in
CHI and
SIGGRAPH, amongst others, as well as lectured at UK universities.
